Stamp Circuit

Data Privacy Terms

Stamp Circuit ("we", "us") respects your privacy. Your information is private. This page explains what we collect when you use stampcircuit.com, what we use it for, who can see it and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

  • Account details you give us when you register: name, email address, postal address, phone number and password (stored in encrypted, hashed form).
  • Bidding activity: the bids you place, the lots you mark as favorites, the sales you follow and your collecting interests.
  • Messages you send through the site, such as a question or an image request about a lot.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the cookies described below.

2. What we use it for

  • to run your account and let you sign in;
  • to place your bids and keep your bidding history;
  • to tell you about your bids: confirmations, outbid notices, results and the start of sales you take part in;
  • to answer your questions and provide support;
  • to detect and prevent fraud, shill bidding and misuse of the site;
  • to keep the site secure and working, and to understand how it is used;
  • to meet our legal obligations.

3. We do not sell or share your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not give your email address or other contact details to third parties for their marketing. Your information is used only for the purposes described on this page.

4. The auction house running a sale

When you bid in a sale, the auction house running that sale receives the details it needs to handle your bid: your name, your contact details and your bids. It needs them to register you as a bidder, to invoice you if you win and to ship your lots. When you send a question about a lot, the question and your contact details go to the auction house that offers it.

The auction house handles that information under its own data privacy terms, which are available on its website. It may not use your details for anything other than the sales you take part in with it.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run the site: hosting and content delivery, email delivery, and Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from abuse. They process data only on our instructions and only as needed to provide their service. We disclose information when the law requires it or to protect the rights, property or safety of Stamp Circuit, our users or the auction houses.

6. Emails we send

We send you emails about your account and your bidding: registration and password emails, bid confirmations, outbid notices, results and reminders about sales you take part in. We may also send you occasional emails about sales on Stamp Circuit.

You can opt out of the emails about sales at any time, through the unsubscribe link in each email or in your account settings. Emails needed to run your account, such as bid confirmations and password emails, are sent as long as you hold an account.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • signing in: a session cookie that keeps you logged in;
  • preferences, such as your language;
  • analytics: to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and to improve it;
  • security: Google reCAPTCHA on our forms.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Signing in and bidding require cookies.

8. Security

Your connection to the site is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed, not in clear text. Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is completely secure, so please keep your password safe and tell us if you suspect any misuse of your account.

9. How long we keep your information

We keep your account information while your account is open. Bidding records are kept as long as needed to document the sales you took part in and to meet legal obligations. After that, information is deleted or anonymised.

10. Your rights and choices

You can see and correct your details in your account at any time. You can ask us to send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it or to close your account, and you can object to a particular use of it. Write to support@stampcircuit.com and we will answer without undue delay. Some records may have to be kept where the law or a completed sale requires it.

The site is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to open an account.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Data Privacy Terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site.
